Bootstrapping
One option is "Bootstrapping" which is the art of starting a company without funding. A whole collection of theories and strategies have been developed on how to successfully bootstrap. Michael Dell, Richard Branson and Bill Gates are noted for starting their companies by bootstrapping, as did the majority of world's entrepreneurs.

Bootstrapping Group
As announced in the Bootstrapping session, a Bay Area bootstrapping group is just forming. The purpose is to maximize member's startup success by sharing information, strategies, connections, resources, skills and more.
Currently we have a Yahoo Group with the following features:
- a message board/ mailing list - ask for help, share what you know
- calendar of bootstrapping and startup events you need to know about
- a Link collection to the most valuable bootstrapping & startup resources on the net
- polls - to find out the group concensus on best infrastructure, strategies, opinions etc.
- files storage - for bootstrapper resources, ebooks etc.
Once we have critical mass, we'll begin monthly meetings.
